Location of Dakhain Waterfall
Dakhain Waterfall is a beautiful waterfall located very near Karor village of Islamabad. The time required to reach the waterfall from Islamabad is around 1 hour.
Directions of Dakhain Waterfall from Islamabad
From Lehtrar Road & Taramery go to Thandapani and then to towards Nilor.
After crossing Nilor Thana, the road is separated into 2 parts, and the junction is called Chirah Chowk.
From Chirach Chowk take the left road which will lead to Karor village. You will pass through several valleys and beautiful landscapes by traveling on this road.
Sawan River also flows beside the road throughout. After crossing a bridge on the Sawan River there is a police training academy. After traveling for few kilometers from the Police Training Building, there are Signboard for Simly Dam Viewpoint and you will reach Simly dam viewpoint in a few minutes.
Take a left turn again from Simly Dam View Point on a single road. The road is in normal condition. After crossing a poultry farm & a government school you will see a signboard for Dakhain Waterfall.
Dakahin Waterfall is around 2 Km from Simly Dam’s viewpoint.
To reach Dakhain Waterfall you have to trail downwards for some meters, there is a parking area where you can park your cars or Bikes.
Dakahin Waterfall is a 2-minute walk from the parking lot. You will be welcomed by dense trees and the sounds of flowing water when approaching the waterfall.
To reach the Dakhain Waterfall, visitors must trek through a scenic trail that winds its way through the lush forest of the national park. The trail is well-marked and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape, including the majestic Margalla Hills.
The waterfall itself is a sight to behold, cascading down a rocky cliff face and plunging into a pool of crystal-clear water below. Life jackets are also available for rent to take a dip in the waterfall. This waterfall falls into SIMLY dam. One needs to be very careful at the point where this waterfall meets SIMLY dam as there is no fence and it could be very dangerous.
Tubes are also available for younger boys.
