Mahandri is 105 km away from Abbottabad city, 243 km from Islamabad city and comes 40 km before Naran. The altitude of Mahandri village is 5144 feet above sea level. From Mahandri, a bumpy and dilapidated 4*4 road leads to the Manoor valley, which is about 8,500 feet above sea level.
Best time to Trek Kuch Gali pass
Although Manoor valley Kaghan can be visited most of the time of the year. However, Kuch gali trek needs a specific time frame for this trek. The traditional tourist season in Pakistan is june to october.
It mainly depends on what you want to see on the trek. Most people do this trek in july/august when they still find a decent level of snow on the summit. On the other hand, they also enjoy the fresh green trek to its peak. In september/october you can find dry weather with a hint of autumn. A few friends have done this trek in the winter months as well.

Generally, three steps are required to reach manoor valley kaghan
- first to reach mahandri from islamabad/mansehar/balakot
- mahandri to bihari village by jeep
- from bihari village to bihari bangla rest house by foot or jeep
Mahandri is an important town on the way to naran and is about 40 km before naran.
Jeep trek to bihari bangla is 4*4 offroad. Riding a jeep is no ordinary travel experience. Along the way, you will cross many springs that fall and crash into the road. In some steep turns, passengers have to get out of the jeep to make it easier to negotiate the obstacle.
Bihari bangla Rest House Manoor Valley Kaghan
There is only one rest house of the valley called bihari bangla rest house. It is a beautiful building with a large green park next to the hill. You can reach bihari bangla a day before your trek and you can rest before your trek. Even if you are not into tourism, you can treat yourself to a few days of rest in this area. It is quite a peaceful and quiet place in the kaghan valley which still offers a natural way of life in the hands of wild nature.
Remember, if you want to spend your holiday in bihari bangla, you must take food from mahandri. However, you can get the support of a cook from the rest house to cook your lunch and dinner. Bihari bangla rest house is a nice place with two family rooms. It was built in 1989-90. It belongs to the forest department of pakistan and can be booked in advance from mansehra.
