Locations of Siren Valley
Siran Valley is a little-known valley located in Mansehra District, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The valley got its name from the Siran River that flows through it. The valley was earlier known as Dara Bhogarmang and got its name from the Bhogarmang village centrally located in the valley. The name was later changed to Siran Valley by some literary works and adopted by later writing as a reference.
The Siran River originates from the Mandagucha Glacier and flows into Lake Tarbela. The Siran flows from the glaciers of the magnificent mountains and flows through the western plain of Pakhli. Two canals have been drawn from the Siran river, the upper Siran canal at Dharial and the lower Siran canal at Shinkiari. From Pakhli Siran runs into the Tanawal hills and joins the Indus at Tarbela in the northwest. Its total flow is between 70 miles and 80 miles and irrigates 6,273 acres of land.
Siran Valley is considered one of the “most beautiful valleys” of Pakistan. With peaks like Musa ka Musallah and Chukro peaks, meadows like Baleja, Saraan, Khandagali, Aram gali, Darwaza gali, Chor, and Mundi, and forests like Jacha, Mandagucha, Dhor, Kundbangla and Sathan Gali, the Siran Valley is full of scenic landmarks.
